MORDEC ETA System including the Chain Stopper, Smit Bracket, Panama Fairlead, Chafing Chain is designed in compliance with SOLAS V/15-1(b), IMO resolution MSC.35 (63), LOOP regulations, OPA 90 and OCIMF
Under Regulation Ch V/15-1 of SOLAS adopted by IMO, all Oil, Chemical and Gas Tankers of 20,000 DWT and above are to be provided with an Emergency Towing Arrangement (ETA) at both ends to provide the ship with a rapidly deployed towage capacity during an emergency.
The Forward system is required to be deployed in One hour by the ship’s crew and the Aft system is required to be deployed by one man in 15 minutes.
